Chocolate Lab...

Sean and I had a low-key Valentine's Day at home this year - we decided that we were going to make chocolates, which ended up being a random science experiment of sorts...We emptied out an ice cube tray and pulled out all of the random nuts/fruits/spices/coffee/marshmallow fluff stuff we could find and proceeded to mix and match...We haven't tasted all of them yet, but what we did try was pretty tasty (dark chocolate with mint white chocolate bits, chocolate with dried cherries, and chocolate with candied ginger)! What we learned - liquid (in our case Cointreau) and chocolate don't mix so well - it discolored the chocolate and made it look old and nasty. Maybe next time we'll try to coat a shell first and then pour in the Cointreau. Some other combinations we want to try: orange zest, crushed candy cane, caramel popcorn, wasabi (?!), rice krispy/marshmallow, PB&J, pumpkin pie spice, and crushed mint leaves. Sounds yummy, right?
