This is pretty much how V's weekend went - family and cameras galore. My parents, brother, and sister-in-law came to visit for the week, and Sean's parents came down for the weekend. We relaxed, Sean and I went on our fist date in months, took the stroller out for the first time, took V to the Cooper Hewitt, Met, and Central Park, and played a mean game of hearts (which I won, thank you very much!). Everyone went back to their respective homes on Wednesday, and I think V has been wondering what happened to all of the cameras ever since.
It's been fun seeing our parents ease into their roles as grandparents. It will be even cooler when V is old enough to really know who they are and to spend time with them. I never lived near my grandparents, so I only saw them a few times every year, but have many fond memories of all of them from when I was a kid. I'm even more fond of them now that I'm older (I'm lucky to still have three living grandparents) - V actually shares her first name with one of my grandmothers, and her middle name with my other grandma and Sean's grandma (who has the same name!). This weekend, as per tradition, Sean's parents gave V her Chinese name - Mui Ling, which is Sean's remaining grandmother's name, so now she shares a name with all of our grandmas. The grandparent/grandchild relationship is special one, and it will be cool to see what develops between V and her grandparents.
Anna you look SO much like your mom! Too cute.
