I can't believe that it's been four months! V is growing bigger and stronger - her new favorite activity this month is standing. In fact, if you make the mistake of picking her up to stand her up, she will protest very loudly when you try to lay her back down, so if you want to play the stand-up game, you had better be committed. I credit her strong legs to the 1000 vertical feet I had to climb every day from 7th grade - 12th grade at my boarding school in India (it alters your DNA, you know)!
V started sleeping through the night this month (9-10 hours! Glory, hallelujah!), but has more or less STOPPED napping. I suppose that is the price I pay for a full night's sleep. She takes 15 to 45 minute catnaps every 3 hour or so during the day, which means I don't get a lot done. I'm still figuring out how to balance motherhood and work, and now that she's more awake, it's proving to be more difficult. I feel like I'm operating at 60% capacity on all fronts.
I thought I'd incorporate some of my favorite photos from this month into my monthly post, along with some notes as I think of them...

We bought a Bumbo for her to practice sitting up in. At first all she wanted to do was chew on it, but she's started to get the hang of it.

V discovered her hands. She often looks like Mr. Burns as she intensely studies and clasps her hands.

V is rolling over - mostly back to front, but occasionally front to back.

She started sucking her thumb this month. I used to be against this before I had a kid, now I think it's kind of cute. Gah.

We stopped swaddling her months ago, but we've been using some of the velcro swaddlers to keep her bottom half warm while she sleeps. However, on two occasions we woke up to her with her feet hanging out the side of her crib (she was hanging out happily, but still!). She now sleeps in a sleep sack and looks like a little muscle woman who should be pumping iron. I'll try to get a photo of that at some point, it's funny!

way too cute. jealous she sleeps through the night, i don't know what i'd do without charley's naps. though they are all for like 45 mins. i'm operating at 60% too.
